Samworth Brothers Cornwall
A food company employing more than 12,500 people across 15 bakeries. They manufacture more than a billion products each year, for major supermarkets, convenience stores, hospitality venues, workplaces and travel outlets. Their sites are all over the UK, including Leicestershire, Cornwall, East Sussex, Manchester and Bristol. They also have a site in Dublin in the Republic of Ireland.

Walter C. Parsons Funeral Directors, Tavistock
The Walter C. Parson family have supported local families when they’ve needed them most for over 180 years, established in 1842. They acquired Tavistock and District Funeral Service in December 2010. They have 12 offices, 18 funeral vehicles included in the total of 40 vehicles fleet and they conduct nearly 1,300 funerals annually across the South West Peninsula.
Tavistock Lions Club
The principal activity of the club is to raise money within the local community for distribution to needy causes locally, nationally and internationally. The Lions Club of Tavistock is a formally registered charity with the Charity Commission (Charity No. 1193186). The generous support of our community through bucket collections, Carnival, Trees of Light, Christmas cards and calendars, donations and more has raised over £350,000 since the Lions Club of Tavistock was formed in 1976.
Inner Wheel Tavistock
One of the largest women’s voluntary service organisations in the world, with around 100,000 members in 3,895 clubs throughout 103 countries.
Any woman who shares the three central aims of International Inner Wheel can be invited to join the organisation.
They achieve these aims through Club events, which combine personal service, fund-raising, fellowship and fun, united by friendship and a common aim to serve the local community.
Members give practical support as well as financial help whenever there is a crisis, whether this occurs locally, nationally or internationally, for natural disasters or for people suffering in war-torn regions.
The Inner Wheel Club of Tavistock meets regularly on the third Tuesday of each month for a meal followed by a short business meeting.

Plasterdown Grouped Parish Council represents the rural parishes of Sampford Spiney and Whitchurch. Located to the south and east of Tavistock the parish boundaries stretch from the banks of the river Tavy at Double Waters to the historic hamlet of Merrivale.
