TASS hosted a Cognitive Stimulation Therapy session this week.  Phillippa Hodge was the facilitator and had a great session planned.  The theme was very topical given the lovely weather.. Beside The Sea.

There was plenty of stimulation for the brain through vision, touch and sound.  Memories and experiences brought to the fore for discussion about how things have changed.  Everyone who attended enjoyed it very much.  We hope that we will be able to run a full programme if we can generate enough interest.

Cognitive Stimulation Therapy is for people living with memory loss.  It is a programme of 14 themed sessions designed to encourage conversation and increase confidence.  In studies it has been shown to slow the progression of dementia.

If you would like more information on cognitive stimulation therapy or wish to express an interest in future sessions, please call us on 10822 616958.
